We have three types of custom tags that can be used in the content.

1. Campaign tags:

We can use campaign tags to show details like campaign name, subject, from name etc. in the content. For this we need to click on “Campaign Tags” and then click on the tag to be used. For example-

a. {{campaign.name}} - This tag will show the campaign’s name in the email.

b. {{campaign.from_name}} - This tag will show the campaign’s from name ( from the from name field ) in the email.

c. {{campaign.from_email}} - This tag will show the campaign’s from email ( from the from email field ) in the email.

d. {{campaign.subject}} - It will show the campaign’s subject line in the email.

e. {{campaign.reply_to}} - It will show the campaign’s reply to email address ( from reply to field ) in the email.

f. {{campaign.click_to_view}} - If we use this tag in the content then it will create the email preview link in the email.

NOTE- The actual text of this tag will be “ If you are having trouble viewing this email, please click here “.

g. {{campaign.unsubscribe_link}} - This tag will create an Unsubscribe link in the email.

NOTE- The text of the this tag will be “ manage subscriptions ”. It has to be used on the content page not as a hyperlink.

h. {{campaign.unsubscribe_url}} - It also creates an Unsubscribe link in the email but we need to hyperlink this tag, if we use this tag directly in the content then it will show complete unsubscribe URL in the email. We can also personalise the text in which we are hyperlinking this tag.

2. Contact tags:

If we want to include contact details like name, email address, phone, fax etc. in the email then we can use contact tags present in the content editor. We have five default fields in the account email, first name, last name, phone and fax, so we will find contact tags for these fields in the content editor.

Apart from the default fields if you have any custom field created in your account, a custom tag for the same will be created under the contact tags. For Example:

a. {{contact.email}} - This tag will show the contact’s email address in the email.

b. {{contact.first_name}} - It will show the contact’s first name in the email.

c. {{contact.last_name}} - This tag will show the contact’s last name in the email.

d. {{contact.phone}} -  It will show contact’s phone number.

e. {{contact.fax}} - It will show the contact’s fax number.

NOTE - If contact’s first name, last name or any other contact field is empty then it will show contact field’s default value. If default value is also empty then this tag will show nothing ( blank ).

3. Other tags:

Apart from campaign and contact tags, we have one tag listed in other tags category:

{{other.time_stamp}} - This tag will show the current date ( Month DD, YYYY ) in the email.
