A payment gateway is software that enables you to accept credit cards online and then submit them to your merchant bank for processing.
Maropost for Commerce supports connections to over 130 of the world's most popular payment gateways including Authorize.net, FirstData e4, Moneris, Stripe, Vantiv, and others.
Mouse over your user name in the top right corner of the Main Menu bar, and select Settings from the Settings menu.
Select Gateways from the left hand nav bar to view the Payment Gateways index page. Then, click the [+New Payment Gateway] button.
Merchant Account Settings
- Label -- enter the label for this payment gateway that you are using to connect to your merchant account.
- Name -- enter any alphanumeric characters including the space character for this gateway.
- Environment -- select either Test or Production
- Monthly Transactions Limit (optional) -- Enter a number here if your merchant account is limited by the number of transactions you're allowed to process each month.
- Monthly Amount Limit (optional) -- Enter a monetary amount here if your merchant account is limited by the monetary amount you're allowed to process each month.
- Transaction Threshold Limit (optional) -- enter the number of transactions in the current month at which point you want to be notified when the payment gateway is close to reaching its limit.
- Amount Threshold Limit (optional) -- enter the amount in sales in the current month at which point you want to be notified when the payment gateway is close to reaching its limit.
- Attempts Limit (optional) -- enter the number of days to retry if the intial attempt to charge the customer's credit card fails. If the initial charge fails, then Maropost for Commerce will wait one day and retry. It will continue each day's retry until either the transaction is successful, or the retry limit has been reached.
- Gateway -- select the name of your merchant account's payment gateway. Maropost for Commerce currently supports over 130 of the world's most popular payment gateways.
- Suspend Status -- check this box if you want to temporarily suspend usage of this gateway.
Gateway Properties
- Supported Methods (display only) -- the list of transaction types will appear here for your reference. You should already know what types of transactions your payment gateway supports from your merchant bank.
- Supported Card Types (display only) -- the list of credit cards will appear here for your reference. You should already know what types of credit cards your payment gateway supports from your merchant bank.
- Billing Countries -- Place a checkmark in each of the countries whose billing addresses you want this payment gateway to support.
Gateway Authentication
- Login / Password -- enter your merchant account's access credentials for the payment gateway. These credentials will have been provided you by your merchant bank.
