Customers are the heart of your business. Each time an order is created, a customer record will be created. If an existing customer record already exists, then the order will be appended to that customer's record.
View a Customer Profile
You can view your customers by selecting the Customers menu item from the Main Menu. To view an individual customer's record, simply click on the customer's email address as displayed in the view. If the Email field doesn't appear, click the [Columns] button to view the list of available columns to display in the view. Click the checkbox next to "Email" to add it to your view.
The Lifetime Value shows the total net value of all Orders that the customer has purchased since the very first Order captured. It is calculated by summing the total value of all of the customer's Orders and then subtracting the value of Orders that have been returned or credited.
Number of Orders
The total net number of Orders that the customer has purchased since the very first Order captured. It is calculated by summing the total count of all of the customer's Orders and then subtracting the number of Orders that have been returned or credited.
A quick assessment of where this customer is in the Customer Lifecycle. The different statuses are defined as follows:
- Non-Buyer: This user has never submitted an order
- 1-time Buyer: This user has exactly one purchase on record.
- Repeat Buyer: This user has exactly two purchases on record with at least one day between each purchase.
- Loyalist: This user has three or more purchases on record with at least one day between each purchase.
Max Order Value (past 30 days)
The Order placed in the past 30 days having the highest value.
Max Order Value Change (past 30 days)
A comparison of the Order with the highest value in the past 30 days compared to the Order with the highest value in the previous 30 days.
Average Order Value (past 30 days)
Calculated as the total net value of Orders placed in the past 30 days divided by the total net number of Orders in the same time period.
Average Order Value Change (past 30 days)
A comparison of the AOV in the past 30 days compared to the AOV in the previous 30 days.
Average Price Point (past 30 days)
Calculated as the total net value of each line item in Orders placed in the previous 30 days divided by the total net number of line items.
AOV informs you how much your customers spend on average when shopping in your storefront. APP tells you the average price of items they typically purchase.
Average Price Point Change (past 30 days)
A comparison of the APP in the past 30 days compared to the APP in the previous 30 days.
Recently Purchased Items
Displays the most recently purchased Products. You can click on the name of the Product to view the product details.
The Timeline displayed in the Activities section of the page lists in reverse chronological order activities recorded for this customer. Activities such as when the customer's profile record was updated, when an address was created or updated, when an order was placed, when the customer's record card was charged, and when the ordered products were shipped all appear in this view.
The Sales Orders section appears directly beneath the Timeline. It lists in reverse chronological order each of the sales orders that the customer has placed. You can jump directly to each Sales Order detail page by clicking the Sales Order ID.
Creating a New Customer
New customer records are automatically created when a Sales Order is created. You can also create a new customer record yourself by clicking the [+New Customer] button on the Customers index page.
You can create multiple addresses for a customer and designate which address is the Primary. To create a new address, click the [+Add Address] button.
You'll notice that each address can have its own first and last name. This option enables your customers to select different Ship To addresses when they place their orders.
To delete an address, click the trash can icon.
Editing a Customer Profile
You can directly edit a customer's profile from the Customers index page. Open the Action menu by clicking the three vertical dots on the right side of the page for the profile you wish to edit. Then, click the Edit icon.
You can also edit a customer's profile when viewing it. Simply click the Edit icon located inside the page.
