The Drag and Drop editor can be used to create reusable components and even re-usable templates.
Use re-usable components when you want to create a library of:
- branded headers and footers.
- content blocks that are a blend of branded content and user-editable content.
- branded templates where the position and content of headers and footers are set.
Re-usable components can be:
- a saved row that is entirely locked from editing.
- a saved row in which some content is locked from editing and some content is editable.
- a saved email content where the positioning of a row is locked and cannot be repositioned.
User Permissions
By default, all users are given "Drag and Drop Normal Access" privileges.
Only users having "Drag and Drop Admin User" privileges have the ability to lock rows, and edit locked rows.
Lock Content Within a Row
To lock content within a row, first, click the content object. The Content Properties tab displays the option to lock the content. Click the toggle icon once to lock the content. Click the toggle icon again to unlock the content.
Continue the process for all content that you wish to lock within each of the rows. There is no limit to the number of content blocks within a row that can be locked.
All other users having "Drag and Drop Normal Access" privileges will not be able to edit the content. When they hover over the content, the icon indicating the locked content appears. When they click the content, nothing happens. However, these users can reposition the locked content.
Lock an Entire Row
To lock all the content within a row - including the row itself - first, click the row. The Row Properties tab displays the option to lock the content.
Click the toggle icon once to lock the row. Click the toggle icon again to unlock the row.
Continue the process for all rows that you wish to lock in the email content. There is no limit to the number of rows that can be locked.
All other users having "Drag and Drop Normal Access" privileges will neither be able to edit the content within the rows nor will be able to reposition the row. When they hover over the row, the icon indicating the locked row appears. When they click the row, nothing happens.
✔️ Tip: When creating pre-designed templates, you can use rows for defining branded header and footer and then lock those rows so that their content and position cannot be changed by other users (having "Normal User" access rights).
Save as Template
Once you're satisfied with the layout of your email content, you can save it to the Maropost for Marketing Template Library so that all users in your account can use it to create their own email content.
If your email content includes any locked rows, then when other users create content from your template, those rows will remain in the created content, locked in their exact positions.
To save your email content as a template, select Actions > Save as Template in the Drag and Drop Editor's menu bar. The content will now be saved to the Template Library.
Create Content from a Template
To access the Template Library, in Navigation, go to CONTENT, and then select Template Library. Then, select Create New Content from the Actions menu of the Template you want to use.
To learn more about the Template Library, see Template Library.
